Beach Guide:

Avalon & Stone Harbor Beaches boast safe swimming, gentle surf and natural dunes. The boardwalk with its spectacular views runs from 21st street to 32nd street for your morning or evening stroll. The following information will guide you through your most asked questions:

Beach Tages are required at all Avalon and Stone Harbor Beaches.  They can be purchased at the booth next to community hall as well as in Stone Harbor.  Tags are required between 10:00am and 5:00pm ~ June 1st thru September 5th.  Anyone who is over 12 years of age is required to wear a beach tag. Avalon beach tags are welcome in Stone Harbor as well as Stone Harbor beach tags are welcome in Avalon.  Pricing as follows:

Seasonal Tags:  $15.00 if purchased before May 1st ~ After May 1st $20.00

Weekly Tags:     $10.00                               Daily Tags:     $5.00

                    Lifeguards

Lifeguards are on duty 7 days a week from the hours of 10:00am and 5:00pm.  Any water activity must be conducted within the designated areas.

Assisted Beach Access:

"Surf Chairs" are designed to manipulate easily in sand are available at the Lifeguard Station on 32nd and Avalon Ave.  609.967.7587 during the Summer season and also at Comminity Hall on 30th and Avalon Ave.  609.967.3066 during the off season.  It is always a good idea to reserve a chair in advance.  Reservation hours are 10:00am to 1:30pm during the Summer Season and 1:30 to 5:30 during the off season.

                         D O G ' S

Dogs are not permitted on the Beach, Boardwalk or Dunes anytime between March 1st and September 30th.

                   Beach Etiquette                

Picnicking on the beach is permitted.  However, all refuse must be placed in trash and/or recycling containers.  It is illegal to litter.  Fires, alcholic beverages, bottles, glass, sharp objects, loud pet noise, indecent language or actions are STRICTLY PROHIBITED.  No sleeping on the beach or boardwalk from sunset to sunrise.  Tresspassing on the dunes and in areas posted for endagered Beach Nesting Birds is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.  Please always use the provided paths.
